All eyes in the mobile world are in imminent Nvidia Tegra 4 processor. The hardware manufacturer wisely showed potential chip performance this week at the Mobile World Congress, and it was a big surprise that the quad-core Cortex-A15 GPU processor cores and 72 were able to defeat current generation background competitors.
Qualcomm, the company’s biggest competitor in the market, not the least concerned. The NVIDIA Tegra 4 was put on some pills downloaded with popular benchmark tests and a web browser. With this in mind the Tegra 4 in both AnTuTu and Browsermark overcame One HTC, which is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.7GHz quad-core processor 600. This is the same silicone expected to boost LG Optimus Pro G. And while it is only speculation for now, a version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon clocked at 1.9GHz 600 is supposed to be the choice of Samsung IV to run its main Samsung Galaxy S after it was determined that the Octa Samsung Exynos phone was overheating. In offscreen and GLBench Geekbench, the A6 processor used in the Apple iPhone 5 was also surpassed by Tegra 4.
Do not expect the NVIDIA Tegra 4 will not have any competition. Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 was not measured and Qualcomm says it is faster than the NVIDIA chip. And we must not forget the Samsung Exynos Octa could not make the final cut of the Samsung Galaxy S IV, but it could be under the hood of the Samsung GALAXY Note III.
At MWC, NVIDIA also showed how Tegra 4 can save battery life by using his “companion core” to deal with cleaning light as playingmusic and videos, while the four cores are saved to the hard tasks. The company also unveiled a reference design that he calls Pheonix 4i for Tegra. The latter combines the Tegra 4 with a built-in modem and is expected in a number of low cost smartphones later this year and early next year.
