Apple cuts price of MacBook Pro Retina


Apple has lowered prices on its line of MacBook Pro with Retina display while increasing processor speed. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina starts now $ 1,499, or $ 200 less than before. The higher capacity version 256GB costs $ 1,699, or $ 300 cheaper than the original price. The processor clock speed is also increased to 2.6 gigahertz 2.5GHz.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina gets a speed boost, with the lower-end version getting its clock speed of 2.4 GHz to 2.3 GHz beaten, and the higher-end version that gets beaten up to 2.7 GHz quad-core 2.6 GHz processor and twice the RAM and 16 gigabytes.
The line of MacBook Pro with Retina display have always been a high-end consumers would buy less. The launch 13-inch MacBook Pro is significantly lower at $ 1,199. With its own sales of iPad cutting into Mac revenue, Apple is likely looking goose interest with reduced retail prices and update specifications.
Apple also reduced the price of its high-end MacBook Air. The 256 GB version now costs $ 1,399, or $ 100 less than the previous price.
Prices have not yet taken effect on Apple’s Web site, but will change today.
