Bing rolls out five apps for Office 365 and Office 2013

Trying to combine productivity with desktop search, Microsoft adds new applications for its Office suite.

Microsoft has launched five new free apps Bing for Office 365 and Office 2013 today. These applications are oriented towards the integration of business models with search functions. Applications include Bing Finance for Excel, Excel for Bing Maps, Bing Image Search for Word, Bing News Search for Word, and Bing Dictionary for Excel and Word.

The software giant released its version of Office 2013 and its subscription-centric version of Office – Office 365 Home Premium – just this week. The second of these two products can be downloaded and can be installed in local versions of Office 2013. There are users who pay annual fees or monthly service subscription.

The new Bing for Office applications are designed to function in a manner similar to Bing applications that are used in Windows 8, Windows Phone and Xbox. “Our goal is to make Bing available in ways that take advantage of convenient and intuitive knowledge Bing has put together for research,” Bing wrote in a blog post.
Here Bing descriptions of five new applications:

Bing Maps to Office helps people chart data location on a map Bing. It ‘a visualization tool of data for Excel that allows you to use the names of places and checks map so you can zoom in and zoom using touch or mouse. You can adjust the map display on the street or bird. Imagine overlaying census data on a map of the state.

Bing Finance (Beta) for Office allows you to take control of your finances, allowing you to build a table in Excel financial portfolio. You can stock symbols input and customize the fields you want to display by selecting from a wide range of data columns, including the current price and news.

News Search Bing for Office allows you to search for videos and news in a Word document. Bing search results can be inserted into the document by clicking on the icon added more. You can also add popular searches to your list of favorites.
Bing Dictionary (English) for Office and spirits continually discovers high-quality knowledge of the language so that you have the latest available definitions and spelling. I’m not sure how to spell something? Just enter the words as they sound and Bing may suggest letters, words or sentences, optional, a part of speech.

Bing Image Search for Office allows you to find images on the Web from a Word document. You can search images by selecting text in the document, or by typing in the search box. The results are displayed in a grid and when you click on a result, a larger preview appears at the bottom with more details and options. Each result can be inserted into the document at the cursor position by clicking on the icon added more.
