How to change your Kindle device name

The name Kindle in the upper left can be changed to something a little ‘more descriptive.

Amazon Kindle devices are automatically named when they are activated to something like, “Kindle Ed”. A Kindle seconds your account will be called, “Kindle 2 Ed”. If you want to change the name to something a little ‘more descriptive, such as the specific model (Paperwhite, Fire, Fire HD, etc.), here’s how:
Step 1: Go to the Amazon Kindle management page and log in with the account you used to register your Kindle.
Step 2: Click the “edit” link next to the name of the Kindle you want to rename.

Step 3: Enter the name you want, then click the “update” button.

That’s it. New name Your Kindle should appear the next time you synchronize or you can try to manually sync. If does not appear immediately, you can also try to restart the Kindle, and then force a synchronization.
